The feasibility of rainwater harvesting in any area is dependent upon the amount and intensity of local rainfall as well as normal dry spells for the area. Other variables, such as the harvesting area and size/type of storage container(s) can usually be adjusted to home or business owner's landscaping needs

The communities of North Texas use more water than any other area of the state. Our rainfall is more than adequate for yard and garden irrigation  but it does not fall consistently throughout the year as you can see from the following table.

Dallas-Ft Worth Rainfall
Month Precipitation
January 1.90in.
February 2.37in.
March 3.06in.
April 3.20in.
May 5.15in.
June 3.23in.
July 2.12in.
August 2.03in.
September 2.42in.
October 4.11in.
November 2.57in.
December  2.57in.
