What to Look for When Buying an Existing Home to Be Remodeled Green The location of your home is not only important, a carefully thought out location can save you money and time for commuting, socials, shopping, and school. North Texas gets adequate rain, but most of it comes in the spring and fall. Water-hungry plants are not sustainable landscaping in North Texas without throwing time and money at this type of yard. Pesticides and fertilizers are definitely not friendly to the planet. In fact, a well-manicured yard is actually the most unsustainable "agriculture" around. Besides, who will miss those hours in the yard each week?
