Famous Vegetarians
Many scientists, poets, artists, religious and political leaders throughout history were vegetarians. A few famous vegetarians include Charles Darwin, The Buddha, Sir Isaac Newton, Leonardo da Vinci, John Wesley, and Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Leonardo da Vinci lived from 1452 to 1519. You might think of da Vinci as a great artist and you are right. However, he was also a brilliant engineer who investigated almost every branch of science. Da Vinci applied his findings as a scientist to his works of art and chose a vegetarian diet for himself. |

Sir Isaac Newton lived from 1642 to 1727. He is known as the father of Physics. He studied light, motion, and gravity. Newton was a brilliant scientist and an independent thinker who was convinced the vegetation diet was best for him. |
