Vegetarian Families of Tarrant County is a support, play, and education group for families with vegetarian children or even one vegetarian member.

As you know, it's an exciting time to be vegetarian, or to be interested in vegetarianism, and I think one of the best ways to express and enjoy that excitement is by joining a friendly veggie group.

You can come out to Vegetarian Families of Tarrant County! There, kids can run, play, be silly
and make new friends without feeling different from anyone because of their diet!

I just wanted to say that all vegetarians should be commended because they have finally (or for a long time have) realized that greatly reducing or eliminating all meat (and for some meat products as well) from their diets greatly helps the planet, conscientiousness for other living beings, and their
health!

But vegetarians in veggie "societies" often face a mild predicament:  They are always having to remember and respect there are many different types of vegetarians within the framework of "vegetarianism.''

I think it would be neat if everyone could feel very welcome and accepted at all functions, and this means no one will be made to feel bad on a personal level about where there are with their diet. Heck, having to live in this society where eating tons of meat is the norm, we all know very well that there's plenty of reason to celebrate anyone who is any type of vegetarian at all.

There are magazines, books and great speakers to show us the best way to be healthy, and educational facts and tips from other members, and each of us is free to learn new ideas at our own pace on the best way to eat!

I hope you will come out and have fun because that's a big part of what it's really all about, celebrating the plenty that we DO have in common:  That we are all either vegetarian or trying to be, that we have these meatless functions we can attend and that we all want to enjoy vegetarianism and have fun and camaraderie. That's why we even attend these events and don't stay home.

That's a lot to celebrate about and we look forward to doing that with you!

Warm wishes,
Cathy S. Hains
